Gary Lee Larimer, 63, of Taylorsville, Ky., formerly of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Louisville Baptist Health Hospital.
He was born Sept. 9, 1959 in Chillicothe, the son of the late David and Janet Geso Larimer.
Gary had worked in sales in the industrial gas and welding industry. He was a 1977 Hillsboro High School graduate and attended Bowling Green State University. He was an accomplished athlete and remained active in competitive sports throughout his life. After graduating from high school, Gary continued to play high-level softball, became an avid golfer and rediscovered his love for poker, after finding a great group of Kentucky friends. Although Gary left Ohio, he continued to maintain a strong bond with his family and friends. His absence will be felt by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debra Wheeler Larimer; one daughter, Mary Jo Larimer of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, David (Linda) Larimer of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Cathy (Ben) Teeters of Hillsboro; one niece, Andrea (Drew) Burczyk of Leawood, Kan.; and one nephew, Ross Larimer of St. Louis, Mo.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of his life Saturday, March 25 at 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. His family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to any hospice organizations of the donor’s choice.
