Frank Willis “Pete” Cox Jr., 81, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024 at home.
He was born March 12, 1943 in East Monroe, the son of Frank Willis Cox Sr. and Cora Oiler.
Frank attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Greenfield and was a former employee of East Monroe Farm Service, Bobb Bros. of Leesburg, Cargill of Bloomingburg, and Bryant Ag. of Washington C.H.
He is survived by three sons, Frank Willis (Janet) Cox, III. of Hillsboro, Daniel Eugene Cox of New Vienna and Paul Stephen (Jenny) Cox of Leesburg; one daughter, Jeanette Ely of Hillsboro; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Saundra Binegar of Arizona, Delores Brown of Washington C.H. and Rhonda Cox of Greenfield; two brothers, Albert Cox of Leesburg and Danny Cox of West Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Rose Everhart of Greenfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Stultz) Cox on Dec. 8, 2007; one grandson, Ryan Ely; two brothers, Rufus and Dale Cox; one daughter-in-law, Carol Cox; both parents and stepmother, Martha (Coonrod) Cox.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Roger Newkirk officiating. Burial will follow at the Hardins Creek “Bridges” Cemetery of Leesburg.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
