Frances E. (Lewis) Cantrell

Frances E. (Lewis) Cantrell, 88, of Bainbridge passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Valley View Care Center, Frankfort.

She was born Jan. 16, 1935 in Elliott County, Ky., the daughter of the late Troy and Ella Lewis.

On Aug. 10, 1957, she married Frank Cantrell, who passed away March 21, 2012.

Frances graduated in 1955 from Sandy Hook High School. She was a hard worker and often held two jobs. In 2004, she retired from ABX Air. Frances was very patriotic and loved her country dearly. She was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ and attended many churches through the years. She loved to crochet, yard sale and spend time with her family.

She is survived by four children, Dave (Debbie) Cantrell, Julia (Mike) Heath, Kim (Danny) Pryor and Tonya (Jason) Andrews; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Goldie (Mac) Skaggs, Wendy (Glenn) Vanover, Bonnie Sparks and Susie Parker; many nieces, nephews and friends, including all the staff at Valley View Care Center.

In addition to her husband and parents, Frances was preceded in death by a son, Troy Cantrell; grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Valerie Williams and Spencer Smith; infant siblings, Ernie, Gernie, Roscoe and Edna Sue; sister, Dottie Dickens; brothers, John, Eugene, Doug and Berl Lewis; and brothers-in-law, Buck Sparks and Larry Parker.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 11 at the Bainbridge United Methodist Church with Dave Cantrell officiating. Following the service Frances will be laid to rest beside Frank in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home, Bainbridge is serving the family.
