Floyd Roades

Floyd Roades, 98, of Lynchburg, passed away Jan. 4, 2024 at his home. 

He was born Nov. 15, 1925 in Buford, the youngest child of the late William Harrison and Agnes (Allen) Roades. 

Floyd enjoyed working on things, especially old cars and projects around the house. He worked as both a carpenter and farmer. 

He is survived by his children, Beverly (Carl) Frilling of Florida, Lynda (Stan Houle) Roades of Savannah, Ga. and Floyd (Jewel) Roades of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Art) Fisher of New Mexico, Stephanie (Will) Fleming of Pennsylvania, Kimberly A. Roades of Hillsboro and Floyd Wayne (April) Roades of Batavia; and great-grandchildren, Annabell and Isabell Fleming, Dakota and Devon Prye and Antonia Roades. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Roades; and his siblings, Ethel Litler, Louada Huber, Harvey Roades and Betty Shoemaker.

In keeping with his wishes, Floyd will be cremated. No formal services will be held.
