Fay Young

Fay Young, 99, of Portsmouth, Va., formerly of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Saturday May 11, 2024, with her family by her side. 

She was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Virden, Ill., the daughter of the late Saul and Cynthia (King) Gasen. 

Fay was a telephone operator for the Ohio Bell Company in Hillsboro for 10 years. She was a member of the Danville Church of Christ and a member of the Hillsboro Ohio Order of the
Eastern Star 441. 

Fay is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Elliott; three grandsons, Brent (Meredith) Elliott, David (Kristi) Elliott and Matthew Elliott; and four great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tedrick "Ted" L. Young. 

Private graveside services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The Turner &
