Fay A. Conley
Fay A. Conley, 85, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully in her sleep Feb. 6, 2024.
Fay, better known as Ma or Grandma Fay, was born Nov. 12, 1938 to Nathan and Mary Alice Sedam in Norwood.
Fay graduated from Harveysburg High School and entered the workforce, most notably as a school bus driver for Clinton-Massie Local Schools, and then printed circuit board assembly for Cincinnati Milacron and Siemens until retirement.
Fay is survived by her daughter, Jackie Phipps; son, Jay Conley (Jackie); son, Jefry Conley; grandchildren, Jeremy Lamb (Melanie), Jessica Davis (Allen), Jason Phipps (Carrie), Justin Phipps (May) and Jordan Phipps; great-grandchildren, Adin, Keegan and Liam Lamb, Cameron (Jenna), Isiah Fields, Madelynn, Nolan, Baron, Sawyer, Nash Phipps and Tye Phipps; and sister Kay Schoenherr (Bill).
Fay was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Mary-Alice Sedam; and daughter, Jerrie Pavlowitch.
Fay worked hard throughout her 85 years, working well into her 70s before finally retiring. Fay took the most pride in the role of mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In retirement, she maintained a simple but active lifestyle babysitting her great-grandchildren, attending family gatherings and athletic events to watch her great-grandchildren and gardening. Fay’s life revolved around family, and that’s what fulfilled her. In addition to her family, Fay was an avid animal lover and was active daily in caring for her many cats, dogs, rabbits and deer up until the last year of her life.
A private graveside service will be held at Springfield Friends Meeting Cemetery. Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington is serving the family.
