Ervin W. West
Ervin W. West of the Berrysville community, passed away April 7, 2024 at Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born in Adams County on his grandparents' farm on Flat Run Road to the late Clarence and Velma (Wylie) West.
He graduated from Belfast High School in 1960. Ervin was a farmer all his life. He was a former employee of the Producers Stockyard in Hillsboro, a member of the Southern Ohio Feeder Pig Association, served on the Highland County Fair Board and served more than 25 years at the Hillsboro Farmer's Market.
On Sept. 15, 1963, Ervin married the love of his life, Margaret (McCalla) West,who survives. To this union were born three children, Jim (Becky) West, Jerry West and Cyndi (Ken Baumann) West all of Hillsboro. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Zach, Amber and Tiffany; four great-grandchildren, A'miyah, Novah, Jadlyn and Timmy; two sisters, Kay (John) Naylor of Lynchburg and Wanda (Marion) Foster of Hillsboro; many nieces, nephew and cousins and a host of friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell and Cora McCalla.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 11 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 12 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Pastor Greg Roberts will officiate with burial following in the Prospect Cemetery.
