Elsie E. Knisley

Elsie E. Knisley, 78, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.   

She was born March 9, 1946 in Greenfield, the daughter of the late Leroy and Sarah (Payne) Bivens.  

She is survived by two daughters, Christina (Wayne Shook) Knisley of Lancaster and Stephanie (David) Shiflett of Greenfield; three grandchildren, Heather (Matt) Lewis of Greenfield, Jessica (Dustin) Hales of Greenfield and Brandon (Sandhya Warrier) Shiflett of Maryland; five great-grandchildren, Addison, Evan, Noah, Kellan and Ledger; three sisters, Gertrude Paul, Mae (John) Cook and Shirley (Gary) Goddard, all of Greenfield; and a special nephew, Donald Butcher, as well as several additional nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 51 years, Steve E. Knisley, who passed away March 5, 2016; a grandson, Jordan Shiflett; and siblings, David Bivens, Shelvin Butcher, Vernon Bivens and Ruthie Bivens.  

In keeping with her wishes, Elsie was cremated. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at the Madison Township Hall, 12640 Centerfield Road, Greenfield 45123.  

Memorial contributions are encouraged in lieu of flowers and may be made to the family in care of the Turner & Son Funeral Home, P.O. Box 127, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
