Edith June (Angel) Tolle, 88, of Leesburg, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024.

Edie, as most knew her, was born Oct. 14, 1935 in Greenfield, the daughter of the late Norman Paul and Hattie Belle (Owens) Angel.

She had retired from Fairfield Local Schools after nearly 30 years of service and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was also a member of the Leesburg Church of Christ.

Her family now believes she’s in heaven, burning the dinner rolls. They aren’t sure if even the angels in Heaven can help her with that. So, if you should ever look to the skies and see black smoke billowing from the heavens, have no fear. Smile and laugh with the family, who believes it’s just Grandma burning the dinner rolls … again.

She is survived by six children, Mark (Connie) Wiseman of Greenfield, Rex (Carla Slack) Wiseman of Wilmington, Dee Ann (Mark) Shelton of Leesburg, Lee Ann Brooks (Shelly M.) of Wilmington, Rhonda (Mickey) Runk of Wilmington and Richard Glenn II (Angie) Tolle of Leesburg; 14 grandchildren, Mark II, Richie, Clint, Josh, Jesse, Elissa, Luke, Lauren, Jay, Katie, Dewey, Brittany, Dallas and Jacob; 19 great-grandchildren, Mark III, Cole, Bryceton, Camden, Makaleigh, Payton, Lorelai, Ellie, Dean, Addilyn, Jayce, Cataleya “Gracie,” Nehemiah, Aaliyah, Jaylyn, Alana, Lydia, Nevaeh and Yuri; as well as her special nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Paul Angel, Ruth Helen Angel, Betty Royce, Jean Bivens and Louvena Angel.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg. Funeral service will begin Friday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. officiated by Pastor Jim Rankin. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
