Edford Steven 'Steve' Parker

Edford Steven “Steve” Parker, 72, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023 as the result of an automobile accident in Clinton County.
 
He was born March 29, 1951 in Chillicothe, the son of Drew B. and Jewell (Williams) Parker, Sr.
 
He was a longtime plumber and was currently employed as a State Plumbing Inspector.
 
He was a 1969 graduate of Marysville High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a 4-H adviser for many years, avid McClain Tiger fan, coach, hunter, fisherman and enjoyed woodworking. Steve loved to laugh, tell a story and was always helpful to anyone in need. His favorite pastime was being with his grandchildren.
 
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Royse) Parker whom he married April 20, 1973; two daughters, Liz (Jason) Garrison of Batavia and Stephanie Lanning of Greenfield; three grandchildren, Jack, Chris and Riley; two sisters, Ann (George) Garinger of Washington C.H. and Marsha Parker of Frankfort; one brother, Drew B. (Sandy) Parker II of Greenfield; one brother-in-law, John (Wendy) Royse of Greenfield; two sisters-in-law, Ruth (Rick) Fernow of The Plains and Esther Royse of Greenfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and close friends.
 
He was preceded in death by one sister, Kathryn Wolffe; one brother, John Parker; one sister-in-law, Linda Parker; one brother-in-law, Richard Royse; and both parents.
 
Cremation will take place, and a visitation will be Thursday, April 13 from 3-7 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield, followed by a veterans appreciation service and military rites provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. All are welcome to come and enjoy a meal at the First Baptist Fellowship Hall in Greenfield following the visitation.
 
A private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family.
