Earl G. Short

Earl G. Short, 77, of Carroll, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, at the Arbors at Carroll. 

He was born March 17, 1947 in Ross County, a son of the late Alex and Mary Johnson Short.
 
Earl had worked for several years at the Sugar Creek Stone Quarry near Washington C.H. 

He is survived by two daughters, Serebrena Short of Lancaster and Kathy Schumaker-Penwell of Kennedy, N.Y.; one son, Toby Short of Lancaster; nine grandchildren, Sabrina, Belinda, Christopher, Ashley, Amanda, Samantha, Tyler, Dustin and Ackyla; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marian Sue Secrest of Frankfort and Jodie Lynn Stack of Florida; and two brothers, Dave Short of Florida and Harland Keaton of Frankfort. 

Earl was preceded in death by one grandson, Jamie; three brothers, Lonnie, Bill and infant brother, Alex. 

Family and friends can visit with his family at the Ebright Funerla Home, Frankfort, on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Cremation will follow the visitation. Those who wish to share a memory of Earl and sign his online register may do so at www.ebrightfuneralhome.com.
