Doyle Shannon Medley

Doyle Shannon Medley, 73, of Hillsboro, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Bethesda North Hospital.

He was born Jan. 2, 1950 in Harveysburg, the son of the late Cecil D. Medley and Beaulah Agnes (Planck) Burke.

Doyle proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Doyle is survived by his wife, Denise Purcell Medley; two sons, Michael (Deanna) Medley and Matthew (Shannon) Medley; three grandsons, Leslie (Allison) Adkins, Galen Adkins and Raji Bannerjee; one granddaughter, Payton Medley; one great-grandson, Elliott Adkins; three sisters-in-law, Maureen Medley, Brenda Jenkins and Melody (Eddie) Howarth; seven nieces; and two great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Medley.

Celebration of Doyle’s life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. The Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.

I am deeply heartbroken for my sister, nephews & extended family on Doyle "Butch" unexpected passing. I was blessed to visit from Florida just a few weeks prior to his passing. My love & prayers to Medley clan!
