In addition to being a faithful husband and a loving father, he immensely loved his grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.

CJ spent the last 19 years enjoying retirement from Loxcreen, where he was an honorable over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed car shows, tractor shows and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Many hours were spent tinkering in his garage with his buddies. He spent most of his days tending to Bone Acres Farm, the farm he worked so hard to create for his family and leaves as a legacy for many generations to come.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Ann (Smith) Johnson of 48 years, whom he married on Aug. 5, 1978; one son, Harley (Brooke) Johnson of Leesburg; one daughter, Emma (Mark) Crager of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Jeremiah Johnson, Oakley Johnson, Kambrie Crager, and Caelix Crager; two step-grandchildren, Kayla (Kyle) Hazlett and Christian Crager; three sisters, Gwyneth Barrett of Miamisburg, Judy Back of Tipp City, and Sonja Smith of Blanchester; two sisters-in-law, Betty Johnson of Greenville, Tenn., and Janice Johnson of Blanchester.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Gail Lambert; one half-brother, Van Johnson; one stepbrother, Kenneth Johnson; mother, Ruth Johnson; father, Denver Johnson; and stepmother, Lorene Johnson.

Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist the family with expenses at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home, 380 Jefferson Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.

Condolences may be sent to www.murrayfettro.com.
