Dorothy L. 'Maxine' Winland
Dorothy L. “Maxine” Winland, 89, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024 after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
She was born Oct. 24, 1934 in Highland County, a daughter of the late Edmund and Edith Cheek Roberts.
Maxine was a loving and wonderful mother. She was an excellent gift giver. She enjoyed her flowers and McDonald’s. Maxine was a dedicated employee at Fayette County Memorial Hospital. She worked there for 35 years.
She is survived by her children: one son, Virgil (Beth) Winland Jr. of Bainbridge and two daughters, Mary (Bob) Hafer of Bainbridge and Edith Winland of Greenfield; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews; one sister, Shirley Montavon of Sabina; and one brother, James Roberts of Frankfort.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Helen; and five brothers, John, Dean, Dave, Melvin and Gary.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 at 1 p.m. in the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home, Greenfield with Pastor Roger Newkirk officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the South Salem Cemetery. Friends can visit with Maxine’s family Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Edie, so sorry to read about your mom. She was a very hard worker, did an excellent job for Fayette. They don’t make them like her anymore. Hugs love and prayers mk
