Donald Lee Fenner
Donald Lee Fenner, 93, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at his home in East Danville.
He was born Sept. 20, 1930 in East Danville, the son of the late Lewis Cleo and Minnie (Meyer) Fenner of Hillsboro. His siblings included Ruth Ann, Lloyd Allen, Dorsey Lee, Dorey L. and Mamie Ellen, all deceased.
Donny was baptized into the body of Jesus Christ on July 4, 1963 by Frank McCrady, Sr., a minister in the Worldwide Church of God, and had faithfully attended the United Church of God, an International Association, in Milford since May of 1995. Don enjoyed getting together with his church brethren, especially when food was involved.
Don attended school in Owensville and Danville. He chose to become a carpenter and worked in Columbus and in Miami, Fla. for many years until his retirement. His hobbies included riding a Harley, fishing, listening to sermons, gardening and cutting wood to heat his home. Don was a self-sufficient man, not requiring help from anyone.
Don loved to talk about the Bible and wondered what he would be doing in the Kingdom of God. On one of the last visits, Don quoted the following scripture in Romans 8:18, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
Friends and family will miss Donny and look forward to seeing him at Christ’s return.
Graveside services, officiated by his minister, Mark Welch, will be held Tuesday, April 16 at 1 p.m. at the Hamer Township Cemetery, East Danville and Caleb Hill Roads, Danville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of God, IA, at 555 Techne Center Drive, Milford, Ohio 45150.
Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro has been entrusted with the arrangements.
