Donald E. Edgington, 74, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati.

He was born Sunday, September 8, 1935 in Highland County, Ohio, the son of the late Vernon Edgington and the late Jessie Young Edgington.
Don was a longtime funeral director in the area and served as a member and president on the Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors of Ohio. He was a member of the Mowrystown United Methodist Church; the Sardinia Masonic Lodge #254 F. & A.M.; the Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite; the Hillsboro Chapter O.E.S. #44, the Highland County Senior Citizens; and the Hillsboro Elks Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Doris J. Edgington, whom he married March 10, 1956; a daughter, Gina (Rick) Earley, of Hillsboro; a son, Craig (Sonya) Edgington of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Paige Earley, Ryne Earley, Whitney Earley, and Jonathan Edgington; two brothers, Kenneth (Helen) Edgington of Milford, Ohio and Larry (Chris) Edgington of Orange Park, Fla.; one sister, Barbara (Richard) Cochran of Loveland, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 4-8 p.m., Thursday, October 15 at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Ohio.
Services will be held at Edgington Funeral Home, Mowrystown, Friday, October 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Pastors Allan Hunt and Kraig Walker officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mowrystown Cemetery, Mowrystown, Ohio.
Contributions may be made to the the Highland District Hospital Foundation or the Highland County Society for Children and Adults in his memory.
