Donald 'Donnie' Robert Ballein Jr.

Donald “Donnie” Robert Ballein Jr., 62, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2023 at his home.

He was born Oct. 26, 1961 in San Jacinto, Calif., the son of the late Donald Robert Ballein and Sharon Levan Fauber.

Donnie worked as a mechanic and loved to fix things. He also enjoyed fishing on his boat.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffer Downing.

Donnie is survived by his wife, Laura Phillips Ballein; children, Jay (Stacie) Young of Hillsboro, Christina (James) Armes of Dayton and Jamie Ballein of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Darrell Ballein of Hillsboro, Patricia Caplinger of Michigan, Lori Valley of South Carolina, Melissa (Douglas) Surdenik of South Carolina and Daniel (Terri) Ballein of Hillsboro.

In keeping with his wishes, Donnie will be cremated. Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family.
