Donald C. Wright

Donald C. Wright, 84, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away April 11, 2025.

He was born May 25, 1940 in Jackson County, Ky., the son of the late Henry and Gladys (Isaacs) Wright. 

Donald worked for 25 years as a supervisor at General Electric, where he was known for his strong work ethic and leadership. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, a commitment that speaks to the values he upheld throughout his life. Donald was also a member of the Highland Lodge 38 F.&A.M. and the Valley of Cincinnati, Scottish Rite, which were important parts of his community involvement.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 63 years, Paula (Funk) Wright, whom he married on March 31, 1962; his daughter, Donella (Brian) Hildebrant; daughter-in-law, Angie Wright; his cherished grandchildren, Katie (Ryan) Pollard, Mark (Rachel) Wright, Austin (Tiffany) Hildebrant and Blake (Megan) Hildebrant; great-grandchildren, Zane Wright, Lucas Pollard, Harper Wright, Max Pollard, Jace Hildebrant and Leah Hildebrant; his sister, Judy Lainhart; and brothers, Jerrold (Nancy) Wright and Freddy Wright. Donald's warm spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Derek Wright; and stepmother, Tonie Wright.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro on April 17, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Masonic service will be conducted by the Highland Lodge 38 F.&A.M., followed by Scottish Rite services at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Greg Roberts will officiate.
 
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard at Sugartree Ridge Cemetery following funeral services.
