Don L. 'Donnie' Milburn

Don L. “Donnie” Milburn, 85, of Chillicothe, formerly of the Belfast community, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024.

He was born Sept. 8, 1939 in Belfast, the son of the late Kenneth L. and Florence M. (Elliott) Milburn.

Donnie was a 1957 graduate of Belfast High School and had attended THE Ohio State University. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Donnie was a former member of the Belfast Church of Grace (formerly United Methodist) Church, where he was raised and raised his family in the church as well. He later attended the Hilltop Mission in Chillicothe.

Donnie was born and raised on a farm in Belfast and continued as a dairy farmer until his retirement in 1989. He then went to work at Airborne in Wilmington and worked there for 13 years.

Donnie is survived by his wife, Devanis E. (Gallimore) Milburn, to whom he was united in marriage June 12, 2004; four daughters, Dianna (Bill) Day of Cincinnati, Lisa Milburn of Wilmington, Joann (Joseph) Serratious of Dayton and Susan (Hugh Wayne) Stultz of Hillsboro; three stepdaughters, Diana Williamson of Chillicothe, Patricia (Mike) Dibler of Tahlequah, Okla. and Christina (Tom) Brown of Chillicothe; three stepsons, Michael (Brenda) Gallimore of Chillicothe, Gary Malott of Chillicothe and William (Diana) Malott of Waters Cove, Va.; five grandchildren, Wyatt (Brittney) Burba, Heather Burba, Riley (Breanna, fiancée) Burba, Ashley (Joshua Miner) Milburn and Jessica (Cody Head) Day; seven great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosilee (Dixon) Milburn, on Nov. 25, 2002; grandson, Robert M. Maxwell; brother, Charles (Elaine) Milburn; and sister, Nancy (Bob) Garman.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Graveside service with military rites conducted by the Highland County Guard will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Hillsboro.
