Derek Justin Lafferty

Derek Justin Lafferty, 42, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 at home.
 
He was born Aug. 16, 1982 in Hillsboro, to Eugenia Elaine Cowman.
 
Derek was a 2000 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and graduated from Pickaway-Ross Joint Vocational School as an HVAC technician.
 
He is survived by his three children, Harley Jade Lafferty of Greenfield, Xander Thomas Lafferty of Hillsboro and Luke Justin Lafferty of Greenfield; his mother and stepfather, Eugenia and David Hart of Chillicothe; one sister, Cassandra Lafferty (Will Jackson) of Greenfield; one aunt, Angie (Randy) Mustard of Bainbridge; one uncle, Tony Cowman of Hillsboro; one nephew, Aidan Jackson; two nieces, Madison Jackson, Mya Jackson; and grandmother, Sharon Cowman of Hillsboro.
 
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Cowman; and uncle, Larry Smith.
 
Cremation will take place and there will not be a service observed.
 
The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
