David Leon Simmons

David Leon Simmons, 58, of Hillsboro, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023 at his home. 

He was born Aug. 18, 1965 in Parsons, W.Va., the son of Mary (Simmons) Mulvihill. 

David worked in construction, was a jack of all trades, and he was a former member of the Hillsboro Eagles. He loved riding his motorcycles, off roading and traveling, and he would do anything for his loved ones. 

David is survived by his mother, Mary Simmons Mulvihill; one son, Charles Ingram of Texas; two sisters, Dixie Ray of Dayton and Tina (Jason Vanhook) Hester of Dayton; nieces and nephews, Ali Knisley, Sean Pooler, Abbigayle Ray, Austin Hammond and Dylan Hammond; great-nieces, Mylah Maddox, Kinsley Hammond and Delana Hammond; and many friends. 

David was preceded in death by his stepfather, Daniel “Frog” Mulvihill; sister, Delana Nunley; and niece, Savahanna Mauk. 

A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
