David Lee McCoy

David Lee McCoy, 67, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023 at home.
 
He was born Oct. 23, 1956 in Chillicothe, the son of Beryl and Dorothy (Johnson) McCoy.
 
David was a 1975 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid Cincinnati Bengals and OSU fan and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of Shorter Chapel AME and Tree of Life Fellowship.
 
He was a truck driver at Greenfield Research and formerly employed at RCA of Circleville for 25-plus years.
 
He is survived by one son, Joshua Lee (Shawna) McCoy of Greenfield; one daughter, Kendra Marie (Lori) Miraglia of Chillicothe; five stepsons, Scott (Krissy) Gaines of Delaware, Kris Toney of Greenfield, Kreshawn Chapman of Greenfield, Dante Jackson of Cincinnati and De’Onte Jackson of Greenfield; several grandchildren, including Camryn and Jaden McCoy; one sister, Madge McCoy of Greenfield; two brothers, Phillip Johnson (Shavonne Broom) of San Antonio, Texas and Marquis Johnson of Houston, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; father and stepmother, Beryl and Donna McCoy of Greenfield; and his dog, Zena.
 
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Johnson.
 
There will be a private burial at the convenience of the family in the Greenfield Cemetery with military rites provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
 
A celebration of David’s life will be Saturday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield with Rev. Joe B. Stewart officiating. Food and fellowship will follow.  
 
Visitation will be noon until 2 p.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to assist the family with expenses at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home, 380 Jefferson Street, Greenfield 45123.
