David “Dave” Berdett Stratton, 87, of Leesburg passed away peacefully on Jan. 8, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton.

He was born Feb. 22, 1936, the son of the late James Berdett and Violet (Gilliland) Stratton.

Dave loved woodworking and hunting.

He is survived by children, Mike (Joannie) Hopkins of Leesburg, Leigh Ann (Mike) Dubois of Florida, and Lori (Michael) Crossley of Florida; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Jason) Bell, Tyler Stratton, Shawn Hopkins, Brooke, Miguel, Brittany, Ryan and Eric; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Danny Stratton of Greenfield; a daughter-in-law, Leora Stratton of Tennessee; and several nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia L. Stratton; sons, Jim Stratton, Allen Stratton and Steve Hopkins; granddaughter, Andrea Hopkins; and a sister, Julie.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
