Daniel Raymond Apking

Daniel Raymond Apking, 91, of the Sinking Spring community, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023.

Dan was born in Cincinnati on Jan. 16, 1932, the son of the late George and Pauline (Minter) Apking. 

Dan retired from working the railroad, served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Sinking Spring Community Church.

Dan is survived by his wife, Jean (Cain) Apking; daughter, Kathy (Johnny) Riley of Ashland, Ky.; grandchildren, Dan (Erica) Wortman and Kerry (Nate) Allen; great-grandchildren, Ava, Hudson and Raegan Wortman, Amelia, Oliver and Evelyn Allen; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Jerry Koehne of West Chester; and nephews and nieces.

Besides his parents, he is also preceded by his son, Bill Daniel Apking; and a sister, Shirley Ferguson.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday, June 5 at the Sinking Spring Community Church. Burial will follow at the Cedar Chapel Cemetery with burial rites conducted with the Highland County Honor Guard.

Friends may call from 2-3 p.m. Monday at the church.
