Daniel 'Danny' Lee Taylor
Daniel “Danny” Lee Taylor, 66, of Leesburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 23, 2024 with his family by his side.
He was born Aug. 26, 1957 in Fairborn, the son of Charles and Sharon (Fouts) Taylor.
Daniel was a 1975 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School, Laurel Oaks Vocational School, and he earned his certification as a journeyman toolmaker. He worked for over 40 years as a toolmaker and machinist around the Wilmington area, and he retired from Airborne Express after working over 10 years.
Daniel attended the Good Shepherd Church in Greenfield, and he enjoyed volunteering his time by sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ through the Kairos Prison Ministry. He loved playing his bass guitar, starting out with rock n’ roll in his early years and most recently playing Christian music. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed hunting and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Daniel is survived by his father, Charles Taylor of Leesburg; two sisters, Susan (Greg) Wittmer of Saranac Lake, N.Y. and Jodi (Mark) Kellis of Florence, S.C.; four nephews, Brian Taylor (Madison Brambo) Wittmer of Missoula, Mont., Brent Russell (Liesel) Wittmer of Juneau, Alaska, Drew Taylor Kellis of Florence, S.C. and Devin Mark Kellis of Columbia, S.C.; one great-nephew, Beau Charles Brambo-Wittmer; and many fishing comrades and fellow musicians.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Taylor, on March 10, 2014.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg. Funeral services will follow visitation June 28 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg following services.
