Charles Elder 'Chuck' Kerr

Charles Elder “Chuck” Kerr, 82, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 at home.
 
He was born July 15, 1941, in Greenfield, the son of Russell and Dorothy (Ashling) Kerr.
 
Chuck was a 1959 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He was an avid fan of hot rods, swap meets, car shows, collecting, oldies music and rescuing feral cats and having them spayed and neutered and loving them with everything he had. He was a member of F.O.E. #1161, ROMEO’s “Real Old Men Eating Out,” the Bonneville Salt Flats and enjoyed eating at Frisch’s, Dairy Queen, 62 Classic Diner and The Cabin.
 
He retired from Rickenbacker Air Force Base where he was employed as a flight line mechanic.
 
He is survived by his daughter, Ginger Kaye Kerr Lowell of Hillsboro; two granddaughters, McKenzie Kaye Lowell and Elena Kathleen Lowell; and two nieces, Kathy (Ronald Sr.) Sorrell of Greenfield and Krista Kerr (Garry Coleman) of Greenfield.
 
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Kerr; grandparents, Ray and Ruth Ashling; and both parents.
 
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
 
The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
