Charles E. 'Charlie' Caplinger
Charles E. “Charlie” Caplinger, 73, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2024 at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born Nov. 1, 1951, a son of the late Charles A. and Helen Moody Caplinger.
Charlie graduated from Adena High School and worked as a carpenter for Budd and Bosch. He additionally worked for Able Construction and Showa Aluminum. He was a member of the Little Buck Lodge, was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed Dickel whiskey.
Charlie is survived by his two sons, Jamie (Amy) Caplinger of Clarksburg and Andy (Courtney) Caplinger of Chillicothe; five grandchildren, Austin, Jordan, Tanner, Wesley and Raylee; three great-grandchildren, Avah, Rosie and Lanie; two sisters, Wanda (Larry) Free of Frankfort and Phyllis (John) Hill of Greenfield; two brothers, Jim (Julie) Burns of Clarksburg and Rob (Jan) Burns of Greenfield; and his former wife, Gloria Caplinger of Frankfort.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Burns; his best friend and dog, Angus; and his grandpup, Carlee Raye.
In keeping with Charlie's wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held Dec 3, 2024 at 7 p.m. in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort. Friends are invited to visit with Charlie's family Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ebright Funeral Home to help the family with expenses.
