Carl W. Coonrod

Carl W. Coonrod, 86, of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 at his home.

He was born Sept. 2, 1937 in Ross County, a son of the late Rufus Earl and Vasie A. Tackett Coonrod.

Carl was a 1955 graduate of Frankfort High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as an electrician at Dupont for 32 years before retiring. He volunteered at all the food banks he could, and he and his friend Jenny enjoyed traveling together.

Carl's family wishes to give special thanks to Adena Hospice and his nurse Jamie; Dr. Seidensticker; and his aide from the VA Village Caregivers, Sadie.

Carl is survived by three children, Tracy (Chuck) Davis of Frankfort, Curtis (Crystal Taylor) Coonrod of Chillicothe and Chad Coonrod of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one more due in a month or two; one sister, Kathy Goldsberry of Washington C.H.; and one brother, Glenn (Edna) Coonrod of Greenwood, Mo.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by one sister, Velma Bick; two brothers, Ralph and Dale Coonrod; and one brother-in-law, Bill Goldsberry.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Greenlawn Cemetery Frankfort, where military honors will be accorded. The Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort is serving the family.
