Betty Jean (Simmons) Hildebrant
Betty Jean (Simmons) Hildebrant, 82, of Leesburg, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026 at St. Catherine’s Manor in Washington Court House.
She was born Jan. 25, 1944 in Leesburg, the daughter of the late Melvin “Mickey” and Jean Louise (Eakins) Simmons.

Betty was a woman of many talents who shared her love of music, art, family and faith with those around her. She was a long-time and devoted member of Leesburg Friends Church, where she shared her musical gifts by playing the organ, piano and guitar. Betty had a love for nature and enjoyed bird watching. She was also a talented artist and took great pleasure in painting. She was a member of the Leesburg Brush and Palette Art Guild, where she was able to share her creativity with others. Above all, Betty was a devoted mother. As an active mom, she was always involved in her family's activities and was there to support and encourage them. She also treasured her family and was a faithful supporter of the Eakins family reunions. Betty will be remembered for her musical talent, artistic spirit, devotion to her family and the love and kindness she shared with those around her.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Betty is survived by her children, Jeanine (Scott) Mullenix of Hillsboro, Brian (Donella) Hildebrant of Leesburg and Lannae (Mark) Greene of Leesburg; grandchildren, Bradley (Jenika) Mullenix, Mallory Mullenix, Austin (Tiffany) Hildebrant, Blake (Megan) Hildebrant, Lauren (Sam) Greene-Thomas and Alex (Hailey) Greene; great-grandchildren, Reagan Mullenix, Owen Mullenix, Jace Hildebrant, Leah Hildebrant, and Luke Greene; brothers, Charlie (Kay) Simmons and Dirk Simmons; and sister-in-law, Leanna Simmons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Rian Mullenix; niece, Heather Simmons; brother, Alan Simmons; and sister-in-law, Paula Simmons.
Betty will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery privately at the convenience of the family. Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
