Barbara Louise Overman

Barbara Louise Overman, 70, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024 at The Laurels of Hillsboro, surrounded by her family.

She was born April 20, 1954 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Harry Paul Oppy Sr. and Imogene (Throckmorton) Oppy.

Barbara was a former member of the Samantha Free Will Baptist Church and a member of the Cross Life Full Gospel Church in Hillsboro. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her garden and tending to her flowers. She was always very well organized, and she liked to have everything planned out perfectly. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She will be greatly missed.

Barbara is survived by her two children, Luke (Heather) Overman of Hillsboro and Tabatha Overman of Cincinnati; four grandchildren, Spring Overman, Virginia “Jenna” Overman, Logan Overman and Winter Mains; four siblings, Dianna Lee of Lucasville, Nancy (Bruce) Bateman of Hillsboro, Catherine “Kitty” Burchett of Hillsboro and Lora (Ivan) Crabtree of Lucasville; a brother-in-law, Al Fetzer of Lucasville; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Sue Glenn, Patty Crabtree, Harry Oppy Jr. and Tonya Fetzer; a niece, April Crabtree; and a brother-in-law, Russell Burchett.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024 from noon until 2 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
