Barbara Lee (Jordan) Sipe
Barbara Lee (Jordan) Sipe, 87, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024 at her home in Wilmington.
She was born Sept. 4, 1936 in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Woodrow and Ruth (Humphrey) Jordan.
Barbara was a longtime member of the Martinsville UMC, and her favorite song was "He Touched Me.” She retired from Clinton Memorial Hospital after 18 years on the second floor as a nursing assistant, all on the night shift. Barbara loved to crochet, knit, quilt, garden and play piano.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, David T. Sipe, whom she married Oct. 16, 1965 in Germany. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Mark (Kathy) Sipe, and daughter, Alice C. (Jon) Amburgey, with both families of Cincinnati; stepson, David T. (Sherlee) Sipe II of Huffman, Texas; three grandsons, Justin Thacher Sipe, Zachary (Michelle) Sipe and Garrett (Shelbie) Sipe; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Jordan; three sisters, Sue (Gary) Straight, Betty Weiss and Wilma Ford; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Lorraine Jordan.
Services will be held Monday, June 17, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton County Memory Gardens, Wilmington.
Friends will be received Monday, June 17, 2024, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington.
