Barbara Doss

Barbara Doss, 73, of New Vienna, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024.

She was born Aug. 19, 1950, the daughter of the late Vincent and Hulda (Gibson) Perkins. 

Barbara graduated from Sinking Spring High School in 1968, where she cheered on the sidelines in her spirited school colors. Although she didn't pursue a degree, she took college credit courses to expand her knowledge. Barbara had a green thumb when it came to gardening and cultivating plants. In her free time, she could often be found playing bingo, trying her luck at the numbers game. She was a dedicated worker at Highland District Hospital for over two decades before retiring.

Barbara cherished the moments spent with her loved ones. Survived by her daughter, Erica Doss; granddaughters, Ashley Doss, Shelby Richmond and Nicole Taylor; grandsons, Brandon Wilson and Blake Burnum; a sister, Sharlene (Ed) Estep; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends. Barbara's memory will forever live in their hearts.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Michael "Mike" Doss on March 28, 2010; a daughter, Wendy Doss on July 21, 2018; five brothers, Vincent Jr, Roger, Robert, Larry and William Lewis; and three sisters, Mae Ware, Helen Martin and Blanche E. Mann.

There will be a celebration of Barbara's life to be held at a later date.
