Anthony James “AJ” Holland
Anthony James “AJ” Holland
Anthony James “AJ” Holland, 39, of Hillsboro, passed away of natural causes suddenly and unexpectedly on March 15, 2024 at his home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1985 in Columbus, the son of Marc and Jacqueline (Phelps) Holland.
AJ was a gentle, loving man belied by his intimidating physical presence. He was a complex person, being artistic, domestic, mechanical and an avid outdoorsman. His education was to be in radio and television broadcasting. He worked and taught in video editing, TV sports broadcast support and radio DJ-ing at several prominent Columbus radio stations. He could remodel a house, build a fence, a doghouse, a fireplace and a deck. He had a natural ability for gardening and enjoyed cultivating some of the world's hottest peppers. It seemed any member of the animal kingdom gravitated to him. He had a love for his pets and aquarium fish. He also enjoyed cooking and smoking meat and was good at it. He could diagnose and fix anything with wheels and a motor, working in the off-road industry, culminating his passion as a specialist mechanic at Nuthouse Industries in Morrow. He loved all things off roading, especially his Jeep and four-wheeling. He was such a good-hearted guy who made friends anywhere he went. AJ could always make you laugh, no one was funnier. If he had a failing, it was undervaluing his own gifts.
In addition to his parents, AJ is survived by his best friend, perfect match, soul mate and fiancée of 10 years, Rachle Engle. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings, Tiffany (Rob) Cline and Mykkel Holland; Rachle’s parents; many friends; and his five cats and dog.
In keeping with his wishes, AJ will be cremated.
