Anna Lou Lucas
Anna Lou Lucas, 94, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.
She was born March 21, 1930 in Ross County, the daughter of Lawrence and Eva Bell (Grogg) McMullen.
She was a 1948 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and member of the Greenfield First United Methodist Church, where she was the Sunday school teacher for 50 years. She was also a member of United Methodist Women and New Petersburg Social Civic Club.
She retired as the Highland County Jury Commissioner after 50 years of employment and was previously employed at Producers Livestock in Hillsboro and Mobile Chemical Farm Service Center.
She is survived by three daughters, Vicki Unger of Greenfield, Janie (Paul) Cockerill of Greenfield and Sue Ann (Bruce) Baird of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Matt Unger, Jason (Leah) Unger, Holly (James) Williams and Tate (Corey) Cockerill; grandson-in-law, Adam Tomlinson; 10 great-grandchildren, Joseph Unger (Madeleine Houser), Lucas (Madison) Unger, Elana Unger, Katy (Patrick) Roush, Jimmy (Megan) Unger, Fritz Williams, Creighton Williams, Otis Cockerill, Lyla Cockerill and Neve Michael Tomlinson; five great-great-grandchildren, Addaline Unger, Murphie Unger, Grant Unger, Case Unger and Jackson Roush; one sister-in-law, Irene Lucas of Greenfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Lucas, on April 15, 1993; two grandchildren, Nathan Cockerill and Heather Baird Tomlinson; three brothers, Harold, Eddie and Robert McMullen; and both parents.
Funeral service will be Friday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Greenfield First United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Armstrong and Rev. Terry Washburn officiating. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the church.
