Ann R. Slonecker

Ann R. Slonecker, 92, of Bainbridge, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023.

She was born July 3, 1931 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Mark and Margarette (Pence) Rogers.

Ann will forever be remembered for the love and care she devoted to her family. As a dedicated homemaker, she poured her heart and soul into creating a warm and nurturing environment for her loved ones. Her unwavering presence brought stability and comfort to those around her.

Beyond her domestic duties, Ann enjoyed being a part of the Goodtime Quilters, where her creative talents flourished. The intricate patterns and vibrant colors of her quilts were a testament to her passion and dedication. Ann’s skillful stitching bore witness to her ability to transform simple scraps of fabric into cherished works of art.

A woman of deep faith, Ann was an active member of the Methodist Church in Circleville. She found solace and strength in her spirituality, relying on her unwavering trust in God to navigate life's challenges. Her commitment to her faith was not only seen in her involvement with her church but also in the kindness, compassion and understanding she extended to all those she encountered.

One of Ann's unique passions was her love for pinecones. Whether she was collecting them during nature walks or displaying them in her home, these simple yet beautiful wonders of nature brought her immense joy. A celebration of her life would not be complete without acknowledging this charming aspect of her personality.

Her warm smile and infectious laughter will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Ann's gentle spirit and kind nature resonated deeply with all who crossed her path, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

Ann is survived by her children, David (Janet) Dunaway of Bainbridge, Dale (Annette) Dunaway of California, Sheila (Joseph) Stump of Circleville and Sandra (Dennis) Williams of Circleville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she is also preceded by her first husband, Eugene Dunaway; and second husband, Robert Slonecker.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Springboro Cemetery, 2348 W. Lower Springboro Rd., Springboro, Ohio 45066. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until noon at the Thompson Funeral Home.
