Nicolas Combs named Georgetown Post Trooper of the Year

Georgetown – Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Nicolas Gunner Combs has been selected as the 2025 Trooper of the Year at the Georgetown Post. 

The selection of Trooper Combs was in recognition of outstanding service during 2025 at the Georgetown Post.

Fellow officers stationed at the Georgetown Post chose Trooper Combs based on his leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.

Trooper Combs is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Award to be announced at a later date.

Trooper Combs joined the Highway Patrol in 2021 and has served at the Georgetown Post throughout his career. 

Trooper Combs is originally from Bethel, where he graduated high school in 2019. Trooper Combs is a recipient of the Highway Patrol’s criminal patrol award, as well as the ACE award in auto larceny investigations. He has received multiple commendation letters.

Trooper Combs resides in Bethel with his wife, Allysha, and their two children, Walker and Lainey.
