Winter storm warning, cold weather advisory issued

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning and a cold weather advisory for southern Ohio.

Heavy snow is expected, with total snow accumulations between 4 and 6 inches.

Snow is expected after 2 p.m. Saturday. Travel could be very difficult.

A cold weather advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. Monday. Very cold wind chills as low as 10 to 15 below zero are expected.

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask and gloves if you must go outside.

Forecast

Today – Snow, mainly after 2pm. High near 31. West wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Tonight – Snow, mainly before 1am. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 4. Wind chill values as low as -8. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Sunday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 13. Wind chill values as low as -11. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph.

Sunday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 0. Wind chill values as low as -8. West wind 3 to 7 mph.

Monday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 25. Light southwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Monday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 15.

Tuesday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 34.

Tuesday Night – Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Wednesday – Partly sunny, with a high near 43.
