Wilmington OSHP Post investigating single-vehicle fatal crash on Panhandle Road

WILMINGTON – Troopers from the Wilmington Post are investigating a single-vehicle fatal traffic crash. The crash occurred today, Dec. 14 at approximately 5:40 p.m., on Panhandle Road, Highland County.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2022 Ram 2500, operated by a Mr. Andrew Pauckner, age 76, of New Vienna, Ohio, was traveling eastbound on Panhandle Road. Due to a medically-related event Mr. Pauckner drove off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, and struck a tree. Mr. Pauckner succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.  

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Highland County Sheriff’s Office, Clinton Highland Joint Fire and EMS, and the Highland County Coroner’s Office at the scene. 

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
