Wilmington OSHP Post investigating single-vehicle fatal crash

WILMINGTON – The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash. 

The crash scene was discovered on Dec. 27 at approximately 10:28 p.m. On Creek Road south of Old U.S. 35, Union Township, Fayette County. 

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2018 GMC Yukon operated by Joseph Buschel, 48, of Big Lake, Minn., was traveling southbound on Creek Road when it drove off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned. 

Buschel was pronounced deceased on scene by Washington Court House EMS. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Washington Court House Fire and EMS, and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. 

This crash remains under investigation by the Wilmington Post.
