Wilmington OSHP Post investigating fatal crash in Fayette County

WILMINGTON – The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single vehicle crash involving a traffic fatality. The crash occurred on Oct. 5 at approximately 7:06 p.m. on Good Hope New Holland Road north of White Road in Wayne Township, Fayette County.

The preliminary investigation shows a 2003 Harley-Davidson Road King, operated by John Landman, 62, Washington Court House, Ohio, was southwest on Good Hope New Holland Road. The Harley-Davidson failed to negotiate a curve, drove off the right side of the roadway, and struck a utility pole. Mr. Landman was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Wayne Township Fire Department, Fayette County EMS, Pic-A-Fay Joint Fire District, and the Fayette County Coroner’s Office during the investigation. 

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
