Wilmington OSHP Post investigating fatal crash

The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred on Nov. 5 at approximately 2:25 a.m. on Center Road in Chester Township, Clinton County.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Kia Forte, operated by Benjamin J. Stearns, 22, of Centerville, was traveling eastbound on Center Road. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a tree before coming to rest.

Mr. Stearns was not wearing a safety belt, and was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol-Wilmington Post.
