After being reported missing on Nov. 25, the editor of the Wilmington News Journal was found walking in the median of Interstate 74 on Thanksgiving evening.

According to a report by The Shelbyville News at www.shelbynews.com, law enforcement officials said Dan Liggett may have been suffering from some unknown medical condition.

Liggett, editor of the Wilmington News Journal, was reported missing Wednesday, Nov. 25, after he failed to show up for work and could not be located at his Urbana, residence, The Shelbyville News reported.

A Shelby County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said a passerby, Kevin Marshal, saw Liggett walking along the interstate late Thanksgiving night and stopped to check on him. The spokesperson said Liggett told the man he couldn't remember where he left his car and was "disoriented."

Marshal transported Liggett to local law enforcement, who reportedly called EMTs and had him transported to Major Hospital while they contacted Ohio authorities and discovered Liggett had been reported missing.

No charges were filed against Liggett. His car was found parked along the side of I-74.

Five years ago, another Wilmington News Journal editor was taken into police custody under unusual circumstances. In May 2004, charges were filed against the former editor after he was arrested at Cowan Lake State Park.
