Wilmington native named executive director at Cape May Retirement Village
OPRS Communities Chief Operation Officer, Daniel J. O’Connor, announced that Wilmington resident, Brad Reynolds, has been named as executive director for Cape May Retirement Village effective Oct. 26.
A native of Wilmington and graduate of Wilmington High School, Reynolds earned his BA and MA from The Ohio State University. Following graduation, he worked for 12 years in utilities, banking and city government before launching a 24-plus year career in senior living.
From 1990 to 2010, he served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services (OPRS) and was part of the original OPRS team that acquired Cape May Retirement Village from Westover Senior Services in 1998. After serving in the OPRS corporate human resources leadership role for 20 years, Reynolds moved from Columbus to Germantown, Md. where he served in an executive role with another senior living organization, Asbury Communities. He returned to Ohio in late 2014 and remained close to senior living through consulting with several nonprofit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) leaders and their boards.
During the 20 years he was with OPRS, Brad was active in the greater community, serving on several boards of directors and trustees – including Ohio State University’s Marion Regional Campus, Boards of Education for Olentangy Local Schools and the Delaware Ohio Area Career Center, Liberty/Powell YMCA and was an adjunct professor with Franklin University in Columbus.
Reynolds is thrilled to have returned to his hometown and to have rejoined the OPRS family.
“The passion I have for serving older adults and those who care for them was born during my years with Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services,” Reynolds said. “In many ways I feel as if I never really left OPRS … my love of the organization’s mission is deeply engrained in who I am and drives my need to serve others.”
Reynolds succeeds current Executive Director Jean Morgan. Jean leaves Cape May to become Executive Director at another OPRS campus, Llanfair Retirement Community in North College Hill.
