The city of Greenfield celebrated its annual Wheels of Progress Festival July 16-18, sponsored by the Greenfield Rotary Club.

The 2010 Wheels of Progress had the theme of Make a Difference.

Rotary Club member Larry Hayes told The Highland County Press that the festival is a time for Greenfield and surrounding areas to come together and celebrate a sense of community.

"It's a place where people can come together and greet their friends and families," Hayes said. "The Rotary Club is a service organization, and this is a way to give back to the community. I think it's a success for the community."

There was no official head count immediately available, but organizers and festival-goers said there were good crowds throughout the weekend, despite some rain showers and high temperatures.

"It's a very hometown festival and it's a lot of fun," said Greenfield City Council member Brenda Losey. "It shows, again, what an amazing community Greenfield is."
