Wenstrup votes to advance Biden impeachment inquiry
Washington, D.C. -Today, Rep. Brad Wenstrup voted in favor of a resolution establishing a formal impeachment inquiry to determine whether there are sufficient grounds for the House to impeach President Joe Biden.
This resolution authorizes the House Oversight, Ways and Means, and Judiciary Committees to continue their existing investigations and establishes procedures for the three committees to collect evidence and testimony from witnesses. The Biden Administration has cited the lack of a formal inquiry as justification for withholding evidence and witnesses from Congress. The resolution authorizes the committees to go to court to enforce subpoenas issued pursuant to the inquiry.
"It is our duty as the People's representatives in the House to ensure that our government and its officials are transparent, honest, and accountable. Evidence uncovered by the committees and brought to us by two brave IRS whistleblowers refutes public statements made by President Biden that he had no knowledge of his son Hunter's business dealings. They also reveal an extensive web of email aliases used by then-Vice President Joe Biden, foreign funding sources, and shell companies that enriched the Biden family, raising serious national security concerns. These factual findings are very concerning and require further scrutiny as honesty is non-negotiable," said Rep. Brad Wenstrup. "This resolution furthers truth and justice in this country. The rich and politically connected must be held to the same standard as every American."
