Wenstrup to speak at annual Highland County Republican Picnic

The Highland County Republican Party will hold its annual picnic Sunday, Aug. 24 at the Hillsboro VFW Pavilion beginning at 5 p.m.

The featured speaker will be Ohio Second District Congressman Brad Wenstrup.

Wenstrup is serving his first term representing Highland, Adams, Brown, Clermont and portions of Ross and Hamilton counties in the U.S. House of Representatives. No stranger to Highland County, Wenstrup’s family has owned a summer home at Rocky Fork Lake for several years.

Wentsrup currently serves on the U.S. House Armed Services Committee and the Committee on Veteran’s Affairs. A Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps, Wenstrup was deployed for a year of active duty in Iraq as a combat surgeon.

The picnic supper will be prepared by former Sheriff Ron Ward and his crew. The cost is $7, and accompanying children eat free.

The public is cordially invited to attend for an evening of picnic and politics. No reservation is required.
