WC Theatre to Present A.R. Gurney's 'The Dining Room'

Eighteen scenes of family life ranging from the comic to the serious are set in a central room in A.R. Gurney's "humorous and compassionate" play "The Dining Room," which Wilmington College Theatre will present Feb. 25, 26 and 27, at 7:30 p.m., in Hugh G. Heiland Theatre.
Scripted as a series of overlapping vignettes, the play visits a host of characters played by a group of 10 actors. Each scene shows a slice of life in which the dynamic relationships of family life are explored.
Rather than scenery changing around the characters, "The Dining Room" is unique in that the characters change around the scenery.
In what has been described as "a seamless collection of moments," the show presents a spectrum of glimpses into the human condition: the joys, sorrows, love and sadness that accompany family life.
Wynn Alexander, professor of theatre, is directing "The Dining Room," with Lois Hock, professor of theatre, designing the set and lights.
The cast features: Ely Bolitho, Kristen Carpenter, Susan Dicken, Justin Duvall, Chelsey Gehring, Zach Hughes, Robert Lowrey, Mandy McDonough, Amy Petzold and Frederick Taylor.
