Visitors Bureau of Highland County, located in Hillsboro, celebrated the re-dedication of the Rocky Fork Bird Observation Station after its renovation with a ribbon cutting from the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, along with family, friends, and members of the community on Oct. 6. The Bird Observation Station is located at 9800 N Shore Dr, Hillsboro across the road from the campground entrance of Rocky Fork State Park.
“It was originally built in 1984 and was dedicated on Oct. 6 of that year. Bob Prosek, the Highland County Airport president, was the park manager then and cut the ribbon on it. We had an Eagle Scout that made repairs to it and wrapped it in metal siding this year,” said Corey Cover, Rocky Fork Park Manager.
