In the last regular meeting of 2024, the Greenfield school board met in the McClain library on Dec. 16 where they recognized VFW Posy 4736 members for a recent donation.
A large drop-down flag was recently unveiled in the new gym. The flag was made possible through donation from VFW Post 4736. Some of those members were able to attend Monday’s meeting where the organization was recognized not only for all it does for the community, but for the members’ service to country.
Post members include post commander Mark Little, Michael Erskine, Richard Counter, Jim Thompson, Burt Clarkson, Brian McNeal, John Wilson and Shane Fligor.
The flag is suspended from the ceiling structure of the new gym and is unfurled, nearly reaching the gym floor at its full length. Once it is game time, the flag is drawn back up into its case attached to the building structure. The black casing bears the name of the organization that made it possible.
