UPDATED: Winter Storm Warning in effect Nov. 17

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Winter Storm Warning from 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16 until noon Monday, Nov. 17.
Snow accumulations may vary from 3 to 5 inches across Highland and surrounding counties.
At 5 a.m. Monday, the Bright Local School District was the first in Highland County to announce it is closed Monday, Nov. 17.
Hillsboro City Schools, Fairfield Local, Eastern Brown Local Schools, Fayetteville-Perry and Adams County/Ohio Valley Schools also are closed Monday. Greenfield Exempted Village Schools were on a two-hour delay as of 5:45 a.m., but later closed. Lynchburg-Clay Schools also closed Monday, as did Southern State Community College.

The Monday morning snow has contributed to a number of area accidents, including a Wise Road crash in which a vehicle struck a tree outside of Lynchburg. Another accident was reported at Bell's Run near Mowrystown.
A Winter Storm Warning means "severe winter weather conditions are imminent or highly likely," the National Weather Service said.
